The rock band "Effekts" released its' debut album "Zudusī paaudze" (The Lost Generation), in November 2024, releasing the album's title track as its first single. It offers a glimpse into the melancholic emotions contained in the album, which combines elements of electronic and post-punk music.
"The idea for the song Zudusī paaudze came to me when I had just turned 26. At that time, I felt completely lost on my journey through life, asking myself questions like, "Where am I going? Should I even be going there?" This song gave rise to the idea of creating an entire album about topics related to personal trauma, coping with it, searching for oneself, and finding oneself.
The album Zudusī paaudze (The Lost Generation) is a manifesto for recognizing oneself as a self-sufficient being. Who hasn't felt like a misfit, useless, or unnecessary at some point in their life, especially during their youth? Dealing with these feelings is part of a process that I would call growing up," reveals Rihards Zelezņevs, who wrote the lyrics for the album.
"The song's music video is a surreal journey through the characters' various inner selves, which coexist and interact, replacing one another. During filming, it was important for us to allow ourselves to experiment and let the song's energy guide us," says Signija Joce, the song's music video director.
